La visite offre une chance de découvrir l'histoire du centre-ville d'Eureka Springs - en commençant avant la fondation de la ville, les personnes qui ont marqué l'histoire du centre-ville et la géographie unique de trois systèmes souterrains - grottes et falaises, la reconstruction de Mud Street et le ruisseau qui coule sous tout cela.

Guests will walk above the Park to see the original location of the Basin Park Spring that was used for healing during the 1880's. They will also see where the Spring is now in the basin of the Park.

Following that they walk up to where the first bank robbery using a vehicle was committed, stories about the three fires, and the history of the Prohibition Era in Downtown Eureka Springs. Venturing further down a secret set of steps that is also a platted street they learn about Carrie Nation who gave her last temperance speech before passing away in Kansas.

This was a great tour and really informative! A great way to start our visit to Eureka Springs. David was an amazing tour guide and a wonderful storyteller. It also didn’t hurt that he resembles George Clooney :)

I thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour. David was an exceptional tour guide, keeping up a running dialogue both humorous and informative. We thought he did a great job of educating us in a very entertaining format. My husband and I are in our seventies and we were concerned about the steps. The path our guide took us on was thoughtfully planned and with one exception almost all of the stairs went downhill. I highly recommend the tour. I’ve been to Eureka Springs several times but didn’t know much about its history. The price of this tour is a great value and a fun way to learn about this charming city.

If you enjoy your vacations with a side of history I highly recommend taking the Underground Eureka tour. This is by far one of the best walking tours I have ever done, David was a fantastic guide who wove the town's history through an entertaining 90-minute walk around town and into the underground of the former bathhouse. The tour was a full timeline of the town's history and I left feeling more connected to this amazing part of our country. While there are many steps involved, 90% are downhill so it's very manageable if you have no mobility issues. Spoiler alert... if you do not like stairs do not come to Eureka Springs, it's built on the side of a hill, so If you come here you will encounter stairs everywhere you go. Overall. a truly must-do while you're here!
