Taking off from the Alaska Glacier Lodge in the Mat-Su Valley to the Knik Glacier (5 miles wide by 29 miles long!). We land right in the middle of the Knik Glacier, where you can get out of the helicopter and spend about 30 minutes on ice thousands of years old with your pilot/guide. We provide ice spikes for you to safely hike on the ice Take pictures of the blue lakes on top of the glacier, crevasses and ice ‘sculptures’ made by wind, sunshine & time. (Summer)
**WINTER TOURS (Oct-April) please note that this tour in some winter months may not land directly on top of the glacier due to snow cover and safety issues, landing may be on the side next to incredible deep blue ice formations**
Total tour time 1 hour includes 30 mins for round trip flightseeing

CHECK IN 45 mins PRIOR TO DEPARTURE IS REQUIRED - please check departure address to plan accordingly. Late check in can result in a shortened or cancelled tour with no refund

WINTER TOURS - October - April -we are unable to land on top of the glacier due to snow cover. We will land next to the glaciers near the massive ice formations
Guests 300lbs or over require our Astar Helicopter to fly. This is not available for every time/day.Please call direct to assure we have that helicopter available to accommodate prior to booking.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee

Had a dog sledding and glacier land tour with my wife and 15yo son. All of us had an awesome time. Our pilot and dog musher ( forgot their names ) were both great Would do this tour again with out question

We booked the tour online and it was worth every cent we spent for the trip. Our pilot, didnt get her name was excellent helicopter pilot , landed on the knik glacier after taking us around. On return she took us over some moose. Would recommend this trip to one and all

We took the Helicopter Tour with Glacier Landing out of the Lodge area, it was an hour drive from Anchorage - great time to enjoy the scenery and see the Knik Glacier from the roadside. The helicopter flight was amazing, viewing various animal life as we headed for the Knik Glacier (other glaciers were nearby as well). Then landing on the glacier, getting out and exploring the makings of a glacier, including a deep waterfall! This was great - I highly recommend this flight!! Then time to head back, the pilot made some nice turns as we followed a flowing river and we were seeing things at an angle - pretty wild!

Thank you for sharing your experience. The drive to Knik River Lodge for the departure is almost as scenic as the flight! Then to hover over the massive glacier ice field realizing how small we really are in comparison is so hard to express. We are glad you were able to join us and hope to see you again!
