After taking a six hour tour of the Kenai Fjord in Seward with about 70 people, my wife and I were looking for something much smaller and more personal. We found it here, with Captain Patrick leading the way. This boat limits patrons to 6, so that should tell you how personal if was. It was two hours long and the view of Kachemak Bay was breath-taking the entire way. We got to see lots of Common Murres, lots of Sea Otters, several Bald Eagles, and at the end we finally were able to see about five Tufted Puffins. (See photos)
Captain Patrick is a very pleasant and knowledgeable young man with an efficacious smile who answered all our questions we may have had. The boat was great with two seats available inside with windows if you didn’t want to be outside with Mother Nature. Of course, we wanted to feel the entire experience outside so even though I had to put on some gloves and an additional jacket, it was well worth it….I wasn’t going inside at all!
We didn’t see any whales or bears so don’t get your hopes too high for that, although I’m sure at times he may come across a whale or two.
