We told Captain John we wanted to see a Shearwater and five minutes later we did. Told Captain John we wanted to see seals and five minutes later we saw sixteen. Told Captain John we wanted to see a whale and five minutes later we did (and watched it fluke 4 times). Did not ask Captain John to see Sasquatch, but I’m sure he could have accommodated that too. While the Coldwater Alaska crews can’t control wildlife, they are so familiar and knowledgeable about the bay that they can provide the best possible chance to see megafauna. Friendly people from reservation to post tour when Captain John helped us look through the humpback database to identify the whale we saw.

Seeing the wildlife was great. Captain John was knowledgeable about how to find whales, eagles, etc. Highly recommend this tour.

FIVE STARS for Captain John!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, Not 4 and-a-half, or 4 and-three-quarters 5 Baby!!!! We had a talk prior to disembarking with John about customizing our experience for the things we were Hoping to see, and he nailed literally EVERY thing on our list within 2 hours. He even put in the extra work to communicate with other Boats to search for a Humpback Whale that we were dying to see. Also. our Captain was a huge Nature Buff. The Dude can Communicate with Bald Eagles for crying out loud. I mean WHO DOES THAT?!! Sooo impressed!!! Truth be Told, We were a challenging family to put up with. My Toddler Crapped his pants the second we came aboard and We FORGOT the diaper bag, John offered a million solutions and was humble and caring. Our Baby started Crying and getting Overtired, John stayed cool and loving about it the whole time. He’s a great family Man and an even Better Boat Captain and Guide. The Vessel itself (Granite Cape)was Very Clean, Modern and well kept, and the wildlife we saw were both heart warming(Otter Families) and Breath Taking (Eagles and Whales) we even saw a Rare type of Puffin, which thanks to Happy Feet is a favorite of mine. John navigated the Fjords and Coastline very Time Efficiently so that we could pack in everything we wanted to see in 2 hours. If you want a Custom, Knowledgable, Gorgeous, Wholesome Experience, I recommend a Coldwater Wildlife Viewing Experience with Captain John. Thank you for making our Day and being the shining Star of our Alaska Trip!!!
