All-Access 9/11: Ground Zero Tour, Mémorial et Musée, One World Observatory

Aperçu
This deeply personal tour of Ground Zero begins at the site of what served as a rescue center for victims and place for mementos after the attacks: St. Paul's Chapel. The historic church was miraculously unharmed when the Twin Towers fell.

You'll then walk to the 9/11 Memorial where we'll reflect on the lives lost in the World Trade Center attacks. See "Reflecting Absence," the largest man-made waterfalls on the continent. Your guide will share the meaning behind the memorial, stories from the day, and how New Yorkers came together in the aftermath.

Afterward, visit the 9/11 Museum with your skip-the-line ticket for a self-guided tour of the exhibits and artifacts. Next, walk over to Freedom Tower, and in the lobby, you can watch "Voices," a film about the Twin Towers and Freedom Tower, before riding the SkyPod elevator 1,250 feet up. Visit the tri-level One World Observatory for panoramic views of NYC, immersive LED displays, and the See Forever Theater.

A great tour around the 9/11 memorial, museum and one world observatory. Our tour guide Angelica was so friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a good insight into the events of that day despite the freezing weather we had a great time.

Anngelica was our tour guide and she took time to find out where we were all from and ask if we had any stories or information about 9/11 as she was very interested to find out about them. She told us stories of the buildings around the site, how the Church was used by the first responders to rest and recuperate and what the nearby Burger King was used for. Her own experience is a story from her Mum who was a nurse at the time. The memorial is very poignant, on the day we visited the water wasn’t running but we learnt about what each part signified and the tree that stood throughout the entire time. The museum is very moving, the memorial under the north tower base to the 3,000 plus people that died is very moving. I found the display under the south tower base a bit much with items from firefighters that had died, their uniforms and their crushed helmets I found a bit ghoulish. There should be a warning for people who suffer with PTSD or any trauma related injuries that this could be hard to take in and see. I think entry should be free with voluntary contributions to donate to Police and Firefighters charities in New York. Overall it was a very moving day, we went up the One World Observatory as the cloud lifted and we had great views all across New York and the surrounding areas. Visit O’Haras pub which is just across from the Oculus shopping centre and behind the Ladder 10 Engine House and firefighters memorial. The pub is full of Police, Fire and Military badges from across the US and the world, a great place for a pint of Guinness and to look at all the badges on the walls and ceilings.

A must in New York, such an emotional day, so solemn, but soooo worth it. A truly amazing tribute to those gone on that terrible day.
