Went on this trip on July 13, 2021 with Cody Wyoming Adventures booked through Viator. It was clear from the minute that we were picked up that the driver/guide was inexperienced. She had never guided and had only been in the park one time the day before accompanying another guide on her trip. We could have driven ourselves but the point was to have someone with knowledge of Yellowstone that they could impart it to us, as well as, to know where the best places were to go. Our driver/guide had not one piece of information to tell us. It turns out that the original guide called in sick that day, but the company did not call us to tell us or to offer another day or refund. When we returned, we went to Cody Wyoming Adventure Tours office and the lady there said the owner would call. NO ONE has contacted us yet. We contacted Viator and they gave us a token refund which was not adequate to compensate for not having the tour we expected. DO NOT BOOK WITH VIATOR OR CODY WYOMING ADVENTURES

Thank you Fran for talking to me through emails.I’m glad that you have let me explain and I have fixed the issue and now we are just hoping to have a great august since July was so bad with staffing issues.So thank you for the talks and I hope that if you get back out this way everybody will have enough staff to get everybody a great vacation.This year with the entire country being short handed has been interesting and hopefully the government will stop handing out money for people to stay home.

A bison walking down the yellow line right outside of our bus tour window. We also saw a bear with baby Cubs, elk, deer and ospreys. We saw everything that we wanted to see our tour guide Dave was great. We learned so many interesting facts from him. Totally recommend this trip.

We took this tour because we wanted someone knowledgeable to tell us about the history, geology and ecology of Yellowstone. Got picked up on time and as we drove, it was obvious that our “guide” had NO guiding experience. Actually this was her second time in the park. The first was the day before when she accompanied another guide and group. She couldn’t answer any questions or give any information about what we were seeing. We were not told that she had no experience nor were we offered any option to rebook, or any refund or compensation. We would be cautious about ever taking another Viator tour.

Hi Fran, I didn’t realize that you wrote a review twice.I’m glad that we were able to talk a bit and get this squared away.Hopefully next summer the entire country won’t be having staffing issues and the government stops handing out money so that people can get back to work.
