Such a beautiful drive, very long, but beautiful. The winter conditions were difficult but I felt so safe with our driver. Tim, our guide, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and a great driver. He tried so hard for us to see the northern lights on the way back, but it just didn’t happen.

We had a great tour with our guide Rob. He kept it fun during the lulls. This is a long bumpy ride but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Really not much to see but it was interesting and Rob taught us a lot about Alaska and its flora and fauna. The pipeline was ok but I enjoyed the history of it more than stopping to look at it. The biggest negative is the long ride back but we did see the lights which was awesome.

It's a 16 hour trip and feels like it. The tour in itself in terms of what you see is ok. Although the tour guide Mel was amaaaazzziiing !! I was amazed by her knowledge and especially listening to her life experiences in Fairbanks. Arctic circle was ok, tundra vegetation I had already seen in Denali already so didn't wow me much. Storyline behind Alaskan pipeline is more fascinating than looking at the pipeline. I enjoyed the in bus documentaries more than the places we visited. Well if you have enough time on your trip you should do this tour, but like me if you are in Alaska for just 7 days like me, don't do it. It get really tiring.

Dear 471aseemb, Thank you for taking the time to share how amaaaazzzing Mel was. Sounds like she would be rated a 5 Star not a 3 -- would that be correct? We appreciate your feedback on how the tour was for you -- each visitor is different and the outdoor adventure that one guest finds a 5 we appreciate you are more inclined for the video -- and that is OK. We appreciate you sharing for other guests who are more like you on what they would enjoy. I would encourage other readers to not try to do all of Alaska in 7 days -- really not realistic for the size of the state. Alaska spans the whole of the lower 48 -- that would be like trying to do a Florida, Texas, California, and Minnesota vacation in 7 days. Alaska has so much to offer return trips make sense to focus on the different areas on each trip - a little hint for those still in the planning stage. Thank you for choosing Northern Alaska Tour Company and spending your day with Mel.
