The tour was fantastic. We are a family of four and we enjoyed everything the tour offered. The bus was clean and comfortable. The guide, Caity is knowledgeable and provided us information on the history of Fairbanks and Alaska. She also put safety of her tour group at top priority. The lunch and dinner at the noodle place inside the Yukon River Camp were good. We didn't expect the high quality of the noodle soup they offer. Crossing the Arctic Circle was the highlight of this tour. We had tagged on a Homestead Aurora Tour at the end of this tour. We were supposed to stay at Joy, for two hours to see the aurora. However due to the weather and road conditions, we returned from Arctic Circle late and we only spent less than an hour there. We were very disappointed. However when we spoke to Cathy at the office regarding our concern, she immediately offered a full refund. We asked if she could rebook us on the same tour the next day. Without hesitation, she registered us for the next day tour. We would like to express our thanks to the company for their professionalism and promptness in dealing with our problems. Unfortunately we were not able to see the aurora lights the next day because the sky was very cloudy. We are planning to come back in the near future and we will definitely choose the Northern Alaskan Tour Company again to organize the tours for us. We would also like to recommend this company to any travelers who are looking for a professional and reliable tour company.

Actual visit date: June 2017 - I'm late with my reviews; thankfully, I kept a detailed travel journal of our 3 months in Alaska. Hubby did not enjoy this trip, because he has back and leg problems and he thought the bus trip was uncomfortable. I, on the other hand, loved the trip. Our guide was knowledgeable and informative. There are a lot of things to see and learn on the drive up to the Arctic Circle; these were the highlights of the trip for me. The actual Arctic Circle is merely a sign. Reaching it is more a symbolic action than anything to see - the ground and trees are exactly the same on either side of the line. But very few people travel that far north. I loved it!

We spent a history-packed day with John, who imparted a wealth of knowledge about the various highways we traveled, the pipeline, mammals, birds and the stops we made before we reached the arctic circle had their own charm. There is full disclosure about the fact that out houses are available at comfort stops. Food is available for purchase. When it was time for John to be replaced for the night, Kyle took over for the Aurora search. He was so helpful with camera positioning, etc. and, although we didn’t get to see dancing lights, we felt it was a well-run outfit with first-rate guides. A bit pricey.
