Wife and I were visiting Asheville for our anniversary and we thought we would give the walking ghost tour a try. The guide was well friendly and well informed of the history of the area as far as we could tell. He had interesting stories and entertained a large group of about 20 people. I would have liked a smaller group but we went on a friday night in the beginning of fall so it was kind of to be expected and didn't really take away from the experience. He took us to about 8 different spots giving us many details about the crimes/events/misfortunes of those areas. I don't believe he ever mentioned Helen's Bridge or if he did he didn't talk about it for long. It is possible that I was lagging behind a little but don't think I missed much. The bridge was one area I was really interested in and went to see it on my own during the daytime a few days prior. We also didn't get to visit the inside of any museum so not sure what that was about. Maybe a covid situation. The walking was a little much at first but once you got past the first stretch it was fine. I thought for 20 bucks it was work checking out and overall, I'm glad I did. I think people who like to learn a little bit of the darker history of Asheville should check this out.

The tour was full of eerie stories which was expected, but I also learned a lot about the history and background of how Asheville came to be. Our guide, Tad, was very knowledgeable and animated story teller. Our tour was on a Sunday night, and there were about 50 people. Social distancing was a little challenging at times, but they strongly encouraged the use of masks and the vast majority of people complied. It was easy enough to avoid the small handful of people that did not wear a mask. The guide was wearing a mask between each stop and only removed it at each stop along the tour when he was a safe distance away.

Our tour guides name was Brian. He gave an amazing account of all the fascinating accounts and stories of everything that happened in Asheville‘s past! I recommend checking out this tour and learning all about the dark side of Asheville, North Carolina.
