We first met Avi 5 years ago when he was guiding for another company. It was an amazing trip we wanted to repeat. I remembered him being called the "Dolphin Whisperer" (which is SO true), so I Googled that phrase to see if he was still in the business. I was thrilled to see that he now has his own company. I immediately reached out and booked our tour.
I can't say much more than has already been said. Avi himself is incredible. Get there early, stay a little late and just engage him in conversation. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife, the islands, the history of the area, etc. It is a pleasure spending time with him.
This tour was probably better than the first one we did five years ago. Very good quality Wave Runners and a great group of people (small groups, us and four other pairs). We saw tons of dolphins, many of which he knows by name. I swear, they see/hear him coming and they come out to play! Also saw manatees, tons of birds and other wildlife and Cape Romano. His history of the area is amazing, especially hearing about how the mangroves have changed the area, how hurricanes have changed the landscape, etc.
As others mentioned, Avi does the photography for you and gives you a zip drive at the end with all of the photos (plus some bonus photos of Cape Romano when it was functional). This allowed us to just focus on the tour and the wildlife and not fumble for a camera. We just reviewed our pictures today and they are amazing! Lots of shots of us up close to the dolphins and dolphins playing in his wake.
I also need to give a shout out to Nancy for all of her great communication leading up to our tour. She kept in touch with us and helped reschedule when weather would have affected our originally planned tour.
Avi and Nancy, thank you for a great experience! You will be our first call next time we return to the area!
