Go underground on a 1-hour walking history tour through Seattle's original neighborhood. Our experienced guides lead small groups through, and beneath, Pioneer Square to the street level that existed in the 1890s. Explore underground pathways that were built more than 120 years ago, learning details on early Seattle history, why these spaces were built, and how they have been used (and misused) over the years. Marvel at how this once Indian encampment has since transformed into one of the 20 largest cities in the United States.

You will enjoy the tour even when you have no travel companion. The tour guide is great at delivering history with humor 😄

My friend and I had a great time on this tour. It's very cool to hear the history of Seattle and why they decide to raise much of it up one story. This decision created lots of challenges and opportunities, helping to create a Seattle that could get back on it's feet, avoid flooding, and fix the mistakes of the past...while introducing new problems and making plenty of mistakes. Our guide was Dave. He was very knowledgeable, funny, patient, and kind. He loved answering any and all questions and was great about relaying the pertinent information to the whole group if a question was asked when not everyone could hear it. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it. I must say that actual spaces we got to see weren't than impressive, just interesting and a fun part of how Seattle recovered from flood and fire.

Jennifer was an awesome tour guide, her energy and enthusiasm for the city made it an unforgettable experience! We learned a lot about not only the Seattle underground, but also how the city started and grew into what it is today. It made our trip much more fulfilling knowing what we learned from this fantastic tour, I recommend this as the first thing you should do when you come here, you won't regret it!
