Aperçu
Go underground on a 1-hour walking history tour through Seattle's original neighborhood. Our experienced guides lead small groups through, and beneath, Pioneer Square to the street level that existed in the 1890s. Explore underground pathways that were built more than 120 years ago, learning details on early Seattle history, why these spaces were built, and how they have been used (and misused) over the years. Marvel at how this once Indian encampment has since transformed into one of the 20 largest cities in the United States.

Went on a spur of moment tour while husband at a conference. Loved the tour guide; loved the information. Not much to “look at” but for 1 hour, it was appropriate.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your guide and the information that they brought to the tour. Over time the Underground has been slowly dismantled by building owners, antique collectors, and everyday treasure hunters - so while the passages exist there isn't a whole lot of store fronts remaining. Actually I don't really want to live underground at Pioneer Square but our tour guide, Patti Amundson, was so upbeat and knowledgeable about the area during our tour there that at the time it didn't seem like such a crazy idea. Laura, Chris, and I did this tour at the beginning of our stay in Seattle and we left the tour feeling as if we actually knew something about the history of Seattle. There were several highlights of our trip and the Beneath the Streets tour was right at the top. The underground beneath Pioneer Square is a fascinating place, and Patti Amundsen was the essential medium through which we came to know a bit about the history of this place. It's a great tour!!
