4
Old Fisherman's Wharf
Fisherman's Wharf is lined with seafood restaurants ranging from casual, open-air clam bars, to formal indoor dining with views of the bay. Along with Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf is one of the few areas in Monterey that sells souvenirs, so the restaurants are interspersed with gift shops, jewelry stores, art galleries, and candy shops. Whale watching tours and fishing trips leave from the wharf, and sea lions often sleep on the pilings, buoys, and moored boats in the bay.
5

Private van tour that was “last minute” for us. The trip covered Monterey Bay, 17 mile highway, a glimpse of Pebble Beach, and ended at Carmel. The tour guide was bilingual in English and Mandarin. She was sweet. We had two other travelers who spoke some English and Mandarin. The guide was also our driver and used recorded material when she had to navigate small curving roads. Would prefer less time at Monterey Bay and more time on 17 Mile highway with more stops for pictures along the highway.

This company caters more to Chinese tourist. The guide didn't do much commentating when I ask him a question, seems like he didn't understand me or he just doesn't know. I ask the tour guide what animals are native to the area and he just ignored me. This tour is mostly sight seeing. In the end, the guide was insisting on separate service fee of $12.00. I won't recommend this tour.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We are an international tour company, this tour had both Chinese and English-speaking customers, therefore the tour guide gave explanations of the same content in both Chinese and English. He did his best to make the guests feel better. We are sorry for the negative experience, nonetheless. The vehicle we use is a new car in 2023, a professional tourist vehicle, Again, I would like to express my sincere apologies and sincerely hope that we can give you a better opportunity to be served next time!

I i have used VIATOR successfully for about seven yers. While this itinerary was excellent with many stunning vistas, the organization on the part of the tour company was practically non-existent. From the pick-up site to the drop off, we were told nothing. The driver spike very little English. I will be writing a detailed letter to Viator and the tour company. halfway through the trip, the driver charged us a 24.00 “service fee” in CASH only!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are so sorry that you are not satisfied with the services you received. Although the tour guide made a special effort to explain the tour twice to each English-speaking customer, it seems that he still needs to do more work on this matter. We have asked the tour guide to improve his service quality immediately.
