Marty is the man! My family and I moved to Austin a few months back (like 25% of the population), and as a result of relocating to one of the coolest cities in the country, we've had our fair share of visitors. Seeing as I'm not local enough yet to show off my new hometown, I booked a tour w/ Austin Detours to take some family out for some sightseeing highlights. I was expecting your run of the mill, dry narrative, but boy was I wrong! My mother in law was in stitches with Marty as our driver/guide! He was fun, knowledgeable, personable, and really made everyone feel genuinely welcome. His mantra - 'Start off as strangers, leave as friends' and he lived by it. Great way to spend a few hours getting an intro to all that Austin has to offer!

I was tasked with finding a reasonably priced tour for my work group to take, that wouldn't take too much time, but would give a good view of Austin. I found Austin Detours and it was easy to set up a last minute (like next week) private tour. Chris was great, off the bat he had a great sense of humor and was knowledgable enough to please a very diverse group of people, some who live in Austin, some who like music, some who like history, all in a very clean, very strong AC van with room to spare! We saw a ton of of street art, the inside of the capitol (with some great stories about the history) and even stopped for a cool gelato - all in 2 hours! I'm glad I went with them, and would totally recommend them to other companies! The only other thing I'd recommend is to do the tour the 1st day in Austin, you'll see a lot of places you'd like to re-visit and eat at during your stay!
