Our trip started with our tour guide Laurie having us introduce ourselves, which is uncomfortable for most, but ended up being the best ice breaker. By allowing us to learn a bit about each other, conversations started quickly and some of us even ended up having acquaintances in common. This was our first food tour, and it did not disappoint. We had a variety of foods as we ate our way through the neighborhoods of Brooklyn, from pierogis to pizza. Laurie was fantastic and gave us a great history of Brooklyn from its beginnings to today. Somehow sharing food with others seems more intimate and familial, and by the end we felt like we’d not just gone on a tour but made friends along the way. This tour was a great way to spend an afternoon…don’t miss it!
