We are a young couple from Denmark staying near Venice Beach and we wanted to visit Hollywood and Beverly Hills without having to drive.
So we got a day pass on the website for 40$ each and got on the bus by Venice Beach Boardwalk and switched to red route later on. It was a great experience - both of the routes!
We loved that it was an actual person telling you history and fun facts about the area as we drove by. Very nice guides and drivers and funny too!
We were a little disappointed that the last blue bus already was leaving Beverly Hills at 4 pm - which we didn't make of course. And on the last red bus, the guide did not have a wind breaker for his microphone, so it was next to impossible to hear what he was saying cause of the wind.
But besides those two things we totally recommend taking Big Bus LA! Having a 48h pass would be the best probably, if you want to go on both blue and red route and get off at most of the stops to sightsee on foot.
