A nightmare! Because it was Memorial Sunday, some stops where off limits but we were NOT told this at all. Even worse, the so called 'live stop tracking' did NOT tell us this either. A staff member was there outside for 20+ minutes after I arrived and I NEVER heard her say the route was off limits and we would have to go to another place. I did not realize she was with Big Bus until I remembered her red jacket while she walked away. A customer had to tell us the bus was not stopping there; luckily it was near a Metro station so we headed out to Union Station. (I did not see a phone number, but I sent a message in the app. I got a response 20 min too late) After boarding we were told to take headsets ( I saw ponchos and it was rainy but we were not offered any, luckily we had our own). Like poor 'ToDoList' we were not told the first time to turn to CHANNEL 2 FOR THE TOUR. (why was the tour not live spoken as other tours? Maybe having a LIVE PERSON conduct the tour would have avoid the other mishaps that I saw in the other reviews). We re-ran the tour to get off at National Mall, and the one decent driver told us how to get there. Next time we will rent a car and download a Rick Steve's or some other pre-recorded tour!

Sorry your tour day did not meet expectation. The day you travelled the park service shut down our regular route. This was noted on our app and website along with stop closures. We also sent push notifications to our customers with tickets. We placed the customer service rep there to further inform guests of the change as a bus was not able to go into that area. The mall was inaccessible to any vehicular traffic between 0900-1800. We apologize for your day. Please give us another try when conditions are more favorable. We do not advertise live guides only that the tour is narrated in 8 different languages.

We liked learning the facts. Since it was so hot, more busses would have improved our trip. The top of the bus was best because of the view. No masks!!

So glad you enjoyed your trip! The mask mandate in DC is eased although still required to board the bus as we are the Official concessionaire of the National Park Service. Masks are still required on federal grounds. Thanks for being a part of our touring family and love the review!

We got left at a stop for nearly an hour as bus after bus decided not to come to stop #8. It was 90 plus degrees and that made us have to walk miles back to our vehicle with 2 small children. We got denied access to another bus because it sideswiped a car, and then denied access to the next because they wouldn’t let our stroller on board. For the whole day, we got to ride one bus for maybe 10 minutes.

We are sorry for your experience. The day you were traveling there was a fitness event they limited access to stop 8. Unfortunately road closures are atypical of DC. There was a stop less than 1/4 of a mile away at the Willard (then stop 7.). Downloading the big bus tour app will provide you with live tracking, route info including service updates and stop locations. Again sorry for your experience.
