We did the full red route on one day and the full blue route the next. We also hopped on and off to get around the city. Tom’s commentary was informative and hilarious in equal measure. This is. “must do” when visiting DC.

This was a terrible waste of money and the customer service is even worse. We were staying at National Harbor, so I asked if I should get the package that included the water taxi up to where we could catch the bus. The answer was yes, so we did, only to find out that the water taxi times did not coincide with bus pickup times by a long shot. So we ended up taking a Lyft to the pick up point. Then the pick up point was badly marked. When we finally found it and waited in the freezing cold only to have them show up with a bus that could not accommodate my husband's electric scooter (even though arrangements had been made ahead of time according to their rules - we caught the first bus of the day so they would send the right bus). Then I tried to get my $18 back for the water taxi and the guy couldn't help me. Said I had to fill out a special online form, which I did only to have the online system tell me it had an error and couldn't accept the form. I wrote back to customer service and never heard back from them. You DO NOT NEED this service, which takes you all around a big loop. You waste time riding on the bus, when you can easily grab a Lyft for A LOT LESS MONEY. We spent $63 each for 2 2-day deluxe tickets that we rode for 1 stop on the first day and 1 stop on the second day. BOTH days we had to take a Lyft to the starting point and it would have cost very little to just take a Lyft to the next stop. So stupid. I tried to get back the $18 extra I paid for the unusable water taxi tickets, but really I should be reimbursed for the whole thing. Instead I got nothing back. This is a HUGE RIPOFF.

We were a family with a elderly person and 2 kids with us.We reached DC on 28 nov 2019 at 2 PM noon time,so big bus was charging 50 dollars for 3 hours per person, it was expensive .but the elderly wud not be able to walk,so we still booked for the 4 (2 adult, 2 kids).we were excited .but it was such a horrible experience mainly ONLY ..and I wud repeat WORST TRIP MAINLY BECAUSE the elderly old (man)tour guide was so bad.nobody could understand what he was saying,he was mumbling in his mouth and that to with such a strange accent which did not seem to be english. Everyone on the bus kept looking at each other cos no body understood anything. Worst still was we never got off the bus.but as we reach the white house was around 3.45 we wanted photos so we got off there.the tour guide said the last pick up from white house is 4.00 PM. The location of big bus pick up is so far from white house that it is impossible to go there take photos and get back by 4 .00 is impossible. So we had to take a taxi back.we payed for this bad experience we actually payed 50 dollars and still did not understand anything about any Dc monument. Which is waste of money.the bus and wud ride off so fast,that in spite of being on.the bus we did not get photos of capital hill...I have used big bus in many places .but hands down the Washington DC big bus is the worst experience. I wud not suggest anyone to try it.And if u get the same bad tour guide (man) like us then it will be your worst experience too.
