Love a Big Bus trip ... Been on Big Bus all over the world. The staff at union station where we got our pre booked ticket ratified were really helpful as were the staff on the bus everywhere, however, there are free circulator buses which go all round the Capitol going everywhere Big Bus does (except Arlington) and there are also the very good $2 a trip local metro buses which also go everywhere except Arlington; so the $50 each for Big Bus was definitely not good value on this occasion. We didn't have an on board guide and the recorded guide through the earpiece was only working sporadically - no better than hearing where we were on the free/$2 buses.

I bought the 2-day pass but Washington is so walkable at least on the Red line that I really only needed and did one day, and just a partial to the Holocaust Museum and then walked my way back up towards Capitol Hill. I'd suggest a 1-day pass is likely adequate although my 2-day only cost me $1 more so no real loss and I had intended to go on it the second day - just didn't work out for my adjusted itinerary to need it. I'd recommend a 1-day for visitors just to get your bearings of where things are and how close together at least on the Red line everything is. It did take a bit for them to get the audio section working but eventually it did and that was fine.

1- Band music and virtually no narrative 2- Part way thru tour & driver tells us, the bus is not returning to our starting point Boarded a Red Bus “B” near 4PM at the Lincoln Memorial paid $200 for 4 adults. We immediately noticed the recorded narrative was not in-synch with the things we passed, and then all band music with no narrative. Mostly NO NARRATIVE the entire ride. Then we were informed this bus was not making a full circle. The driver did point out if we exited at Washington Memorial we could catch another bus, heading to Lincoln - This of course missed several stops on this $200 tour. By this time, with literally NO helpful narrative, we were ready to exit and call for an Uber DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY!!!
