This tour was the highlight of our 7 day vacation. The Mercedes van was brand new, spacious and comfortable for the long day. Our guide, Derek, was knowledgeable, funny and so accommodating throughout the entire day. We learned much about each location without feeling lectured.
I highly recommend this tour.

Only on island for a couple of days, wanted to see all that we could. Mainly Volcanoes and Black Sand Beach. We saw that and more!! Besides what we wanted to see we visited a coffee plantation, a local doughnut shop, walked through a Lava tube and saw 2 beautiful waterfalls (Wailuku and Akaka Falls) . Robert the tour guide somehow manged to keep us entertained with history, geology and a few personal stories (watch out for the red centipedes ) for the 11 1/2 hours we were with him. A box lunch was provided at the black sand beach (in shade too) . Was the trip a lot...yes!! Was it worth it ....Yes!!. If you only have a few days on the Big Island do it but be prepared for a long day. However I would not recommend for young kids or maybe even teens as a long day may get to boring for them

Only on Big Island for a couple days and wanted to see volcano national park in black sand beach. Signed up for the island in a day tour. Driver was Robert and he managed to keep us entertained for almost 12 hours. Besides what we wanted to see we also visited a coffee plantation, a local doughnut shop, a lava tube and a couple of beautiful waterfalls Wailuku State Park and Akaka Falls. the company does provide a box lunch at the black sand beach(in the shade) and Robert gave the history of the islands. The man talked for about 10 of the hours and drove over 300 miles. The trip is exhausting as it is what it says Big Island in a day. You don't miss a thing. If your only there for a short time I recommend doing it, it's too much to cover on your own. Yes you don't spent much time at the volcano or the Black sand, but the time is divided evenly enough so you you get a taste of the island. There were all adults on our trip so i can't tell you how children/teens would do for a long time so think about that before you sign up
