I booked this day trip which I would very much recommend if you would like to see the views and have someone else drive or if you don't have a car. It is also a busy and confusing area where you need a car and Carlos the driver knows all the destinations and where to park. It was a very long twelve hour day and I packed in a lot. McVey falls, Big Sur Pfeiffer State Park, Pebble Beach gift shop and most of 17 mile drive as well as sections of Monterey and Carmel. My advice is to check the weather in advance and choose a good day. Also carefully decide what to do in advance and discuss it all with Ben the tour operator because he will indicate the timing and other details. Ben phoned me a few hours after booking and this made all the difference because I could tailor make my day. There is far too much to do in one day on this tour so choose what's most important to you and what to do when there. For instance, the Pfeiffer falls trail at Big Sur takes about an hour or less and was a good option but I only discovered that at the park after asking around. Monterey and Carmel are so beautiful I was stunned but hadn't scheduled in any stops there but Carlos is so accommodating and patient. I could just ask him when to stop and saw the dolphins clearly in Monterey, whales breaching along the Pacific coast, deer grazing on the fairways of seventeen mile drive and felt the silky sand at Carmel.
