This is one Florida experience you do not want to miss! What makes this amazing is that the protected wetlands around the area we launch our kayaks has almost no light pollution. This make for amazing visibility of the bioluminescence.

This kayak trip was by far the highlight of our week vacation in/around the daytona area. We started the trip out around 6:30 and wrapped up around 10 pm. Our guide, Otto, was hilarious to say the least and he knew so much about what we were seeing. I'm typically a wimp when it comes to kayaking over open waters but our sunset trip out to Bird Island was the coolest and prettiest thing I've ever reached with a kayak. Having a guide eases any fears or anxieties and it's even better when the guide is as cool as Otto. We went on a Wednesday so it was just me, my boyfriend, and Otto. Definitely book in the middle of the week if you're hoping for a solo adventure.

We went in late April, so not the best time for the bio-luminescent algae, but even so we were still able to see some, and the jellyfish were really great! We even got to hold the jellyfish in our hands. They glow like crazy when you disturb the water. It was a beautiful evening. Bring a sweater if it's a windy night.

Fabulous trip. I have paddled all over the world and I was greatly impressed with BK's bioluminescence trip. He and his guides are very knowledgeable and very patient.
