Our tour guide Clay spent three hours taking us on a fascinating tour of key sites. He was so knowledgeable and brought everything to life in a really interesting and lively manner. It was an unmissable experience and absolutely the best way to experience the civil rights history of Birmingham.

Clay has an amazing breadth of knowledge on all things Birmingham as well as the passion and storytelling ability to make it all interesting. We were on the civil rights tour and learned the true history of Birmingham's past thanks to Clay's willingness to be honest with the facts. He's clearly spent the time researching the true history of this time period. We're so glad we didn't try to tour Birmingham's heritage trail on our own. We would have missed so much. Thanks, Clay!!

Wow! I took the Fight for Right civil rights tour with Red Clay Tours while visiting Birmingham and it was absolutely awesome! Clay knows his stuff and gives an extremely interesting and informative tour of this very powerful subject. I've been to over 20 countries and have now visited 42 of the US states and I have not been on a tour this good since I was in Florence, Italy in 2002 with a local Art History major. Clay's tour is a great balance of walking around the city, seeing and hearing about local history and riding in his very nice motor coach. He does an excellent job of covering all of the city's important details and sites in the civil rights movement, as well as answering questions. Clay was a top notched tour professional and I would highly recommend his tour to anyone. Especially if you are interested in learning more about civil rights, the plight for social justice and equality for all people in our country and/or just visiting Birmingham for the day. P.S. I also took his lunch recommendation and ate at the Urban Cookhouse. The urban cowboy sandwich with cheesy, cheddar pasta was quite yummy and I love to eat local. Two thumbs up for Clay's tour and food suggestions!
