Visite des droits civiques à Birmingham

Aperçu

Clay does an excellent Birmingham Civil Rights Tour. As he brings us to churches, parks, and government and commercial buildings where civil rights events occurred, he contextualizes the events for the visitor. He is very articulate and brings his emotion to his descriptions. It was like I was a fly on the wall during these events. I went to the Civil Rights Institute after the tour and it made that visit much more interesting and relevant. Thanks, Clay for a job well done! Bernard

My husband and I are doing a Civil Rights tour for his milestone birthday. That tour included Birmingham. Sadly our one day here was on a Monday, when all of the civil rights highlights are closed. We asked the hotel for suggestions and they said if we still wanted to tour Birmingham to reach out to Clay. I called him at 11AM and by 2PM we were on the best historical tour we have ever taken. We didn't need to go inside a single building to feel the true experience of the civil rights experience here in Birmingham. Clay is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about his city. I can't say enough about the tour. We went to places inaccessible to the average tourist. We will remember this experience always. If it was possible to give 10 stars we would! Great job.

My 15 year old daughter and I took Clay's tour last week. I called him weeks ago and after speaking to him on the phone, I rearranged my visit to Alabama so we could be in Birmingham when he was there in order to take his tour. It was well worth it. He is the only act in town, and has spent years learning about the history of his hometown. He drove us and 1 other guest around in his van, making stops at a variety of places, describing in detail the history of Birmingham from the days after the civil war up through the 1960's. Learned an awful lot about a lot of things that weren't too pretty. Every town should have a Clay doing this kind of thing. He is a true inspiration. My 15 year old especially got a lot out of this tour. Thanks Clay!
