We were very impressed with our guide. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and engaging. Our group was quite large. That along with the competing typical city sounds made hearing challenging at times. Limiting the size of the group could help.

I debated paying for a tour. There are lots of books and maps that will guide you along the Freedom Trail. I’m glad I took the tour with Bob as guide. He started by explaining that he’s a historian, not an actor. For that reason, he was able to answer questions and give an informative tour. His passion for history was contagious. Even though Bob was great, the tour was frustrating. They should limit the number of people on each tour. It’s difficult walking through busy city streets with a giant group. It’s also difficult to hear. My other issue was not actually getting to see the stops along the Freedom Trail. We’d be a street away and have it pointed out. I ended up going back and looking at them on my own. Even with the flaws, I’m glad I took the tour.

The guide was rude and condescending. He even went so far as to practically yell at a little kid for holding a door open for someone. Couldn't wait for it to end!
