Along this tour you will learn the history of bourbon while you sip some of its signature products. Not only are the bourbons you will learn about and try on board incredible, you can find them no where else in the world, as the are Single Barrel Barrel Picks that our captains and crew have specifically picked from bourbon warehouses just for you! In fact, some of the bourbons you will try came from bourbon warehouses floating on the Mississippi River! River Aged Bourbon on a boat!

Our Captains are not only professional mariners, but also phenomenal history guides. They will entertain you and spin for you yarns that are not told anywhere else, or in a more complete picture way, than is offered onboard the boat. We missed the tasting because we were late by a minute or two due to construction in the area and we did not get a chance to make it up. That was really disappointing because that's the whole point of booking that kind of experience. We enjoyed everything else about the tour though. It was very informative and they offered us local drinks. The guides were both very nice.

We are so saddened to get this review. Out of what are currently 161 reviews, 159 of them being 5 Stars and 2 being 4 Stars... this is our only one that is less than GREAT! We feel it imperative to note that the "faults" this review has in our tour has nothing to do with what Kentucky River Tours or Buffalo Trace Distillery offered for this experience. The complaint was with timeliness and showing up late for a part of what we had packaged together. Please consider this when reading this review, and, we feel it worth noting that we were not made aware of "missing the tasting", as this reviewer notes, until we read this review. If we had been told, we would have gone above and beyond to make sure we, Kentucky River Tours and Buffalo Trace Distillery, had made things right.

We had so much fun. Started with the tasting then on the boat after. We took the 4pm tour which had us on the boat around 515pm which was the perfect time. The scenery was beautiful, the tour was interesting and Captain's Nathan and Allison were so much fun. I highly suggest. It was worth every penny. *I do suggest that you throughly read the instructions on when and where to meet as this tour is a separate company than the tasting. We were a little lost but Hayden at the brewery was amazing at getting us right back on track.

We did the Bourbon Pompeii tour and it was so cool! The boat tour was the highlight over the Buffalo Trace tour and tasting- Nathan and his wife know so much of the bourbon, River and city’s history that I had never heard before. Plus, little extras on the tour that were a surprising treat!
