Visite gastronomique et historique de la vieille ville d'Alexandrie

Aperçu
Alexandria, Virginia sits just across the river from DC but Old Town feels far removed with its cobblestone streets and charming rowhomes. When visiting DC, we always suggest that people take the time to explore this little nearby gem!

Enjoy tastings from locally-owned restaurants which contribute to the story we share. Along the way we will visit a classic spot that has been a mainstay for over 40 years; a restaurant with award-winning dishes, and classic bistro with European roots.

Explore the pretty streetscapes, the waterfront, public art pieces, and the architecture while you learn about the evolution of this small city. From the Civil War to Civil Rights to present day, Old Town has played an instrumental part in this country’s history. Come and get a taste of history.

A portion of each ticket sale is donated to Bread For The City, an organization who provides food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty for DC residents.

This tour was a wonderful combination of history and exploring local eateries. Our delightful tour guide, Mary, provided us the opportunity to meet many of the eateries' owners and hear their background stories, which made the delicious food even better. We also enjoyed the combination of walking through the area learning about its history, and sitting to enjoy the food. Mary did an excellent job ensuring we could all hear what she was saying and answering all of our questions. We met some wonderful people on our tour and will definitely return to Alexandria!

This tour was awesome! Emma, our tour guide, took us on a great walking history tour of Old Town Alexandria. She was extremely knowledgeable and told us many facts about the area as well as fun stories. The most enjoyable walk was broken up by breaks at area restaurants where we were served delicious food that gave us a sampling of some of the unique offerings of Alexandria. I highly recommend this tour!

Joined family from out of town on this food tour of Old Town Alexandria. We benefited from great weather--perfect for the experience--and had enjoyable walk through old town. Stopping at five sites for food/beverage (good beer in my case!), and hearing about the history of many interesting sites such as Christchurch, Carlyle House, Torpedo Factory, etc. It's a great way to introduce yourself to a city or to enjoy time with family. Great job by the guide Zach as well; informative and engaging. I'll look into other DC Food Tour experiences.

So happy that you enjoyed your tour in Old Town with Zach! We'd love to have you join us in Georgetown, on U St, or on our newest neighborhood adventure in Fells Point, Baltimore. :) Cheers, Mary
