Niagara Falls is downstream from Buckhorn Island State Park! Navigate the waters of the Niagara River streams as you kayak and hike upstream from the mighty Niagara Falls. Discover a nature preserve and bird sanctuary filled with the summer smells of orchids, asters and wildflowers of the marsh and meadows. Visit a natural bird sanctuary where turtles and wildlife thrive in the canopy and meadows of Buckhorn Island State Park in beautiful Grand Island, NY. Your guides are natives of Niagara Falls and Grand Island, and will hike with you through the trails while you learn the Niagara Falls history of exploration and the legend of The Maid of the Mist. Grand Island is home to the only heron rookery on the Niagara River, and on your hiking trail Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Black Crowing Night Herons and little green herons are in your sight. You will be treated to a local favorite for lunch, Buffalo wings and New York Pizza.

The park is a gem and a must see for anyone visiting Niagara Falls. We kayaked the upper Niagara River like the Maid of the Mist inside the protected inlet of Buckhorn State Park. The wildlife like Blue heron and river carp and turtles were right before our eyes. It was magnificent.

Wow did we have an amazing time! Our guide was informative and friendly. Learned about the area and hiked and kayaked through a beautiful state park. Even did some dock fishing. What a gem of a tour! We highly recommend this. Don't miss it. We saw turtles, fish, and numerous bird species in the bird sanctuary area of Buckhorn State Park, just north of Niagara Falls. It is tucked away upstream and provides a unique nature preserve for outdoor enthusiasts.

Nothing I was looking for the guide that was supposed to take us in this experience my daughter and son were very disappointed. We were there in the meeting point there was no one
