We booked this tour based on reviews from Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The tour left from the Visitors' Center and drove past all the 'must-see' places in the city, with a running commentary from our congenial driver, Benji, who was able to maneuver through traffic, entertain with relevant stories, and answer questions that arose with ease. What a pro! At the end of the tour we felt as if we'd 'seen it all', as advertised.

My wife and I took the city tour to gain a good overview of Charleston. We did see many of the sights that we would not have see otherwise. Charleston is a wonderful and beautiful city. Our only problem was the guide. All guides tell stories and inject their own personality into their tours. Our guide, however went beyond telling stories, she went into her own personal beliefs/philosophy on everything from race relations to sexual orientation. Some of the statements bordered on insensitive and made some tour members feel uncomfortable. We took the tour to learn and see more of Charleston. We did not take it to have to listen to the tour guide express poorly formed ideas and opinions instead of focusing on the main purpose of the tour.

It was a hot weekend when we were there. We got on and the air could not keep up, so they had fans attached to the old ceiling. Didn't work!! We got off as soon as we could. We called the office and spoke to a girl and explained. She assured us the owner/manager would call us the next day. She spoke to the driver, who was good, and he confirmed it was way too hot and there was a screaming baby so no one could hear (that actually didn't bother me, because I was too hot to care). They never called. We then contacted Viator who we booked through, and when they contacted this company they said because we got on, no refund. AND, their air was working - THEN WHY ALL THE FANS???? DO NOT DO THIS GROUP!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We have fans on all of our buses simply to help circulate the air. We actually received no other complaints on this day and it has been quite pleasant outside for most of the last 45 days. It can be 100 plus degrees in the summer and with lots of windows and heat from the street, it will be a little warmer on a tour bus than it would in a small car with few people. We continuously monitor our vehicles and have them maintained so that the heat and air are working properly. We're sorry that you warm on this tour, but yes our tickets are typically non refundable once purchased.
