Docent was very knowledgeable, articulate and informative. He kept us at a steady pace but welcomed questions.

Rain started just before we left, but the docents rustled up some umbrellas and we took off with the guide braving the elements. He gave us a complete and thorough tour. Having spent time with the history and background of the area before, I still learned new details and saw new places. The displays at the headquarters we definitely worth the time, don’t miss the Chicago model. Upstairs see the skyscrapers and proposed tallest building.

We did this walk with a tour guide, Jan, who was very knowledgeable about Chicago architecture and history. The boat ride looked like fun too but we wanted to see places on foot and I am so glad we did! We were able to stop in and see lobbies of historic bldgs. The Art Deco Chicago Motor Club Bldg (now a Hampton Inn) was a definite highlight. It was just the right amount of walking, no stairs to climb, maybe not the best for young children, but for those interested in urban history, it was great.
