I have been to a luau in Hawaii before and was very excited to bring my husband to his first one. Right off the bat, this luau is in a water park. Let me repeat that….it is in a water park. I thought that we were dropped off at the wrong spot, as did some of the other guests. The welcoming from the staff was dismissive and cold.
The atmosphere is ok if you overlook the plastic yard chairs, plastic tables, plastic tablecloth’s and the plastic grass……oh yeah, and the fact that you are in a water park.
The drinks and food could’ve saved this experience but they did not. The drinks were pre made (weak) and the buffet food was no where near as good as other luau’s.
We paid for the upgrade package….don’t bother.
The best part was the show. The Chief and his dancers/ musicians did a very good job of entertaining the crowd. However, this should be a singular show and NOT a luau. I would’ve felt better about paying to see a show and not duped into thinking it was an authentic luau.
