Wow, where do I begin? My only regret is that I didn’t go back every night of my stay in Honolulu! This was quite possibly the most entertaining show I’ve attended. We can’t wait to go back to Hawaii just for Chief’s Luau. My children had an absolute blast; they’re 3 and 1. My daughter has not stopped talking about it and showing off the palm plate that was made and given to her. What a way to make a 3 year old feel so special! Definitely hooked her. She wants to see more “allooooooooo-has” and “princesses dancing.” My 1 year old was mesmerized by the fire dancing. I think I can speak for the majority of us when I say we all were. Incredible form of art, amazing cinematic conveyance of their culture. Coming from someone who feels deeply indebted to and rooted in my ancestral culture and traditions, it was beautiful to witness. I genuinely appreciated it. I wish all people were as passionate and educated about their culture as the chief and the dancers were. It was not just art, not just a show, they are inviting you to witness their way of life, whilst also preserving it. They’re educating people, even as young as 3! Can’t begin to list the amount of information my daughter spewed after the performance at Chief’s Luau. She agrees Moana’s daddy was right to say that all you need to live is a coconut tree lol. Love the connection, kiddo. Take yours, you’ll love watching their face glow and their brains grow!
