We had a terrific time on the Rocky Mountain Food Tour. Kathy, our guide, took us not only to unique eateries but also provided some history on Colorado Springs and the restaurants we visited. The meeting location was the Kinship Landing, a boutique hotel that has accommodations from suites to bunkrooms to pitching your tent on their rooftop. A much different hotel than most but plush at the same time. Our Food Tour consisted of stops at 5 very different eateries. Each had its own specialty and location. We started at Homa in the Kinship Hotel with a delicious hand-pie with string French fries. Next, we went to The White Pie for a tasty white pizza pie topped with an egg and tangy cauliflower side dish. For those whose reservations included alcohol a choice of red or white wine was provided. Continuing on we, dined at The Carter Payne, an old church that now also houses Local Relic Brewery. Here the owners and chef - shared the beers and how each matched with the foods on our tray. The pictures show the beer names. The plate had the Sanctuary Salad, a meat slice, spicy Sloppy Joe sandwich and a refreshing Lavender Panna cotta. Everything was very good and the beers where a nice blend to match the foods. The facility is unique in this former church that has a lot of history. Next stop is the Lucky Dumpling where we enjoyed their special dumpling and caramelized Brussel sprouts. Our refreshing and cool drink was a Snoop with gin, elderberry flower, lime, and agave. On this hot day everyone loved the Snoop. Extra excitement at the Lucky Dumpling is Chef Brother Luck stopped by to visit. He started the Luck Dumpling and has been a finalist on Chopped and even "beat" Bobby Flay in Beat Bobby Flay. He shared some insight into his food experience. Our final stop was Munchies where we delighted in the Mexican Hot Chocolate Waffle - a deep fried waffle. We thoroughly enjoyed the Rocky Mountain Food Tour. Kathy did a very good job of educating us on the eateries we visited, the foods we were eating, and giving us some history of Colorado Springs. No dinner tonight- we had plenty of food and drink on the food tour. Good Time!

Hi All - my husband and I took the Friday, 07/08/22 tour with Roger (tour guide). If you are FROM Colorado Springs or PASSING THRU - you have GOT to book this tour. Roger was insightful, funny, articulate - tremendously knowledgeable about the 'Springs' history with antecdotes, etc. And the food ... AMAZING! For the price, you get to see 5 restaurants w/all the history about the location and the statues within downtown Colorado Springs. Roger was able to answer All my questions - especially about the 'Eggs' that hang out here and there - and even informed me there were 2 I missed in East Colorado Springs. The first restaurant was Jack Quinns - absolutely one of the best historical accounts of how they became a GREAT Irish delight. They have draft beer and cider - but the gentleman giving us the presentation on Jack Quinns had a t-shirt from Jameson Whiskey. I've been to Ireland - and Jack Quinns Shepherd Pie is second to none. His repertoir was so interesting I forgot to ask for a shot (or drink) with Jameson - THAT's how good he told the story. Then we went to Brakeman’s Burgers - if you haven't been to this place, you simply need to GO! My hubby loved the Sliders - and I wasn't exactly shy about eating the wonderful Sweet Potatoe fries with various sauces. The history was excellent to hear about how this wonderful restaurant came about. Our next stop was at Poor Richard's Restaurant - the BEST pizza ever! We sat in the courtyard and learned about various tid-bits of history from our guide, Roger. If you like white wine - try their Riesling - WONDERFUL! Then came the: Four by Brother Luck. We had a private room for our tour. I've had Margarita's from all over the world - but NEVER as good as this Margarita. My husband loved the Jalapeno Poppers - I had to give up my doggy bag to him when we returned home. Our final stop was: Josh & John's Ice Cream-Downtown. I'm not exactly shy about Ice-Cream, but THIS place serves - by far - the BEST., unique flavored, creamy ice cream I've ever had (and I've been to Rome with Gelato, etc). That's where our tour ended. In 3 hours, we learned more from Roger than any/all other tours combined. We were so stuffed by the end of the tour - we couldn't eat for the rest of the evening into the next day. There's a certain charm made when you learn about a place. This 'tour' did so much more than that. I work in healthcare IT - my days are stressful, etc. This tour gave me 3 hours of a reprieve. You really can't expect that with all tours - but this tour, you can! Enjoy!

Kathy was great! We experienced this tour as a family of four (14, 11 year olds). By the end of the tour we had made friends! I love how food creates community. Excellent food and interaction with chefs a bonus! Great local fare and introduction to history and activities in the area. We enjoyed the ability to sit and eat as well as water at each stop. Because of this tour, we will be repeating trips to this area!
