Minutes from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs State Park mermaids see the river from a whole new perspective with this clear kayaking ecotour! Kayak through a quiet estuary where, fresh and salt water mix, before paddling up the very active and beautiful spring-fed waters of the river. Be on the lookout for wildlife like manatees, turtles, fish, birds and dolphins! A great adventure for beginner paddlers but we do paddle upstream for the first half of the tour, which is a workout and worth the drift paddle back to the launch site. Your guide will stop for pics along the away! Expect an adventure that is part wild and part urban as this iconic river is a popular one to enjoy living and recreating on! We stay in our kayaks for the duration of the tour. Please remember the river and wildlife is subject to daily changes in behavior and conditions. All kayaks are tandem. Weight limit of 250lbs per seat and 425lbs per kayak. One adult to one child is required unless otherwise arranged.

Fun kayak tour. We paddled steadily both ways, but it wasn't super strenuous for sedentary 50-somethings with little kayaking experience. We covered 4 miles in two hours. The river was quite crowded with kayakers, boats, tubers, etc. when we went (11:30 am). Did not see any wildlife. Our guide Davis said the 8:30 am tours tend be less crowded. Davis was great - friendly easygoing and helpful. He took us on a detour on the way back on a quieter branch of the river, which was nice. Tip - for a daytime tour, make sure you're dressed for sun - hat sunscreen sunglasses, etc. - and bring water. And go before you go!

Thanks for such a thoughtful review! It can get really hot out there in the middle of the day. Luckily, even when the wildlife isn't out in droves, it's still a super peaceful paddle!

This was a great experience! We seen a jellyfish and manatees! Davis was an excellent guide and very knowledgable. Great for anyone!

Gary, our guide, was great. He set a nice pace, was very knowledgeable, and showed us beautiful scenery. We also liked that it was a small group and not crowded. We went at 8 am, and despite it being early in the morning, it was a great experience. Even my teenagers enjoyed it!
