We enjoyed as much as we could manage to do but, a lot of the historical sites are on varied schedules so if you want to see them all you will have to plan on at least a week. You will also have to purchase at least 5 different admissions as they do not have any one pricing passes for everything. Colonial Williamsburg where you can get passes for 1, 3, or 7 days has the shops where you can see people doing the trades of that era and most are on staggered schedules being open on different days. The Museums are a separate fee for 7 days admission and have lots of very important historical information. To visit some of the battlefields you need a National State Park pass that is good for a year which allows you to bring 3 other adults with you and at the Jamestowne settlement there is another $10 per person fee to see the Archeological digs in the original settlement near the Jamejs river. We enjoyed most of the areas historical sites but, were slightly disappointed that some of them were not open to the public. Not sure if it was the time of our visit in late March or if they were still trying to recover from the COVID pandemic?

We toured Colonial Williamsburg today, and left early due to closures and lack of lunch options. This is my third trip to Williamsburg, but I was traveling with another family -- it was their first trip. We had four children with us, ages 8 through 16. So many sites and houses were closed. We walked by house after house, only to see a closed sign on the door. Boredom set in early for everyone. Even lunch turned into a drudgery. At 12:15, we asked about lunch options, and were told three different things by three different "workers". We passed several of the lunch "taverns" and ALL were closed. We headed back to the bakery , our only option (we were told there sandwich options), only to wait in a long line and have chips and cookies to choose from. All other lunch options were gone. One worker said things were closed because it was Monday. Seriously? It would have been nice to be told some of these closures at the time we purchased tickets for a family of seven. If indeed, Monday is a slower day for the park, we could have toured another day. What a disappointment. There is no highlight of the day to report.
