Experience the world’s largest urban bat colony emerge from under the Congress Avenue Bridge!  This colony made up of 1.5 million Mexican free tailed bats is an amazing sight to see and hear. From the meeting point, join your professional guide where you will paddle and observe one of nature’s wonders and learn about how these nocturnal creatures help create a better ecosystem for everyone. The tour lasts 2 hours and food and drinks are not included.

Being on the water was great and being under the bridge while we saw some bats. However the end of the tour was not enjoyable. We kayaked back in darkness with no lights. It ended up where we started under bridge with no lights. There was no communication while finishing up tour. I got out of kayak and had to walk alone in darkness under a bridge to thankfully find a scooter and get out of there. I’m not one to get scared easily and that was the worst experience of my life in how uncomfortable I was after the tour.

Hi there we have a number of lights on the back of our kayaks, but we have gone ahead and ordered a significant amount more to increase the supply. Bats do tend to come out at night though so if you are scared of either the dark (lit up by a massive downtown skyline), or water this might not be the best activity for you.
