We literally hopped off the plane from Chicago, grabbed a quick (delicious!) lunch at Biker Jim's and started our tour. This tour was a great way to hit the ground running on our long weekend. First of all, it was 70 degrees outside - in February. We had just left 20 degree weather - walking around Denver, sipping beers was like manna from the Gods to us!
The tour itself was really fun and made even more fun by the altitude - we were tipsy quicker than we'd expected. We ended up visiting 4 breweries/brewpubs and trying between two and four samples at each. The tour guide, Bryce, was really good at picking a variety of samples and we were able to really get a feel for the huge array of beers brewed in Denver and the area.
Walking around on such a beautiful day only added to our enjoyment and we were able to take a little tour of the area, including seeing Coors Field. Bryce was able to provide some history on the Denver area and info on brewing, which was a fun addition to the basic tour.
My only complaint is that the tour wasn't even longer - though we definitely got our money's worth! There were some other great brewpubs in the area that we could have visited - maybe consider offering a longer/more expensive option for people who want to make a full day of it?
The staff is really nice and knowledgeable - I had to call to see if they could fit us in and the woman I spoke to couldn't have been more accommodating and pleasant. Thank you Denver Microbrew Tour for starting off our long weekend just right!
