Visite à pied des brasseries artisanales de Portland

Aperçu
Our small group eastside makers and artisans walking tour takes you to the side of the river where the hotbed of innovation has always been, across from downtown Portland in a neighborhood packed with breweries young and old. We'll head toward the river from our inner Eastside shop into an industrial neighborhood rich with food and art, exploring the past and the present of Portland's craft culture.

Portland was a leader in the DIY culture and is home to every kind of food and beverage, from tea and kombucha to coffee and handmade soda; candies to hot sauces; imports and things made of recycled goods right in the warehouse district. All of these thrive in this neighborhood, where Around Portland Tours makes its home.

The tour in total is 2-3 miles of walking, with tastes of tea and a snack as well. We always keep groups very small, so you'll have an intimate experience with your passionate guides!

I was looking for the perfect way to celebrate my anniversary. We wanted something adult but we’re not particularly fancy people. This tour was perfect! The hosts were attentive but not overbearing at all and had a ton of amazing information. My husband is a bit of a beer snob and he definitely learned something. The hosts worked really hard to create a temporary community of the strayers on the tour. If you’re looking for an experience that is truly Portland, this is it!!!!

However, this is the first tour where the guide did less talking than the participants. We got taken to three brew pubs, given menus and told to pick two beers (in sampler sizes) each. No history of the brewery, no comments, and no recommendations, except for our last stop where the marshmallow stout was recommended and we were given some bread and butter to munch on. Any info or suggestions we got on the various beers came from the staff of the pubs. In fact, since it didn’t even seem like they were expecting us, I could have done the same tour with a map and my credit card. Sorry, to be so negative, but it seems to me if you’re going to lead a beer tour you should know something about beer and the history of the craft breweries you’re taking your customers to.
