Four of us went into this excited to hear some ghost stories, and see some cool local pubs. We met at Six Pence Pub, which we all liked a lot! I forget our guides name, he was an older fellow from Boston. Very nice, engaging man. However, the stories were not creepy. Some didn't even go with the location that we were visiting. By the time we made it to the 4th, and last pub, we were all bored and ready to ditch the group. Also, our guide used the word "retarded" as an insult twice while telling his stories. May not bother most folks, but I really don't appreciate that word being used that way. We all felt like maybe he just takes the group to his "buddies" bars. Honestly, I would not recommend this tour, nor would I do it again. All four of us were disappointed.

Thank you for taking a tour with Savannah By Foot. We regret it was not the experience you were looking for.
First off all my stories go with the pubs we visit or the location the pubs occupy. I started this business over 25 years ago, did all the research myself. The stories told on our tours are location-specific and you can expect to hear tales relating to many of the bars you will visit on the route and other haunted sites in the neighborhood.
You also stated that I only visited my buddies bar's. I am not buddies with any of the owners of the pubs. Since I started this company all the pub's ownership has changed at least once. We select bars with interesting history and good drinks--there's no business relationship between tour operators and bars beyond the Six Pence Pub, where our tours have begun nightly for over 20 years.
One more thing. The word "retarded" does not only refer to people with diminished capacity. There is no way I used that term in a way that would or could be hurtful to any person.
