What a wonderful experience! There was 8 in our family ranging from 12-76 and this was so beyond our expectations. The check in had great information and education about the manatees (so heartbreaking) with a very sweet woman (sorry, I forgot your name)! Pete and Dave were our guides and they were AWESOME! They were very patient and had great personalities. You can tell they really cared about us seeing manatees, ubut that they also care about protecting them and their habitats. We were as up close and personal as you can get! I know this is the start of the summer season, but I can’t imagine it being any better. We saw quite a few manatees and they were thisclose. The other thing we loved was ending it by stopping at the spring. Really though I can’t imagine if we had different guides. They made the trip awesome. Thank you for taking such great care of our family!

The staff is great and very knowledgeable!! The experience doesn't take place in a protected reserve as we thought, but it was quite fun and enjoyable. We saw a momma and her baby, then a large adult that was quite friendly.

My family went for the swim with manatees tour. They really enjoyed the whole experience but there was not one picture of any of them with the manatees. They were just pics of them on the pier and stock pics of manatees. They wanted $37 for a package of only the manatees swimming. We could get that on the internet. So the advertisement is very misleading. If pictures are not important to you by all means enjoy. But they were to us and we were very disappointed. And it’s not that the pictures were not good in quality because the guide just wasn’t taking them.

We are so sorry you were disappointed by the photos of your tour. This is especially concerning to us when we have reviewed the photos and see they are quite good considering conditions, time of year, size of group etc.....it gives us the opportunity to discuss photographic expectations and our guides' priorities. Also, the photos were given to your group COMPLIMENTARY after your complaint, so mention of the $37 is unfortunate. 98 photos, multiple videos, a dozen photos of your family (all smiles)....but NO PHOTO OP WITH A MANATEE!?! This is NEVER guaranteed, only happens occasionally ...and we can see from the footage that you were observing a sleeping animal and it would have inappropriate to simply swim up to it so you could take turns getting photos next to the manatee. We are more conscientious, and if you had asked about the 'manatee photo op' (which I believe you did, and we discussed this at the front desk) we would have been honest about conditions and expectations. Maybe you did not hear us. It is important to note, however, that there were dozens of photos of manatees, the animals you were observing...they are NOT stock photos! They were photos of your tour NOT stock material; but your guide did a good job of making the most of their opportunity to photograph the animals. Some of these photos are gorgeous. Were you even in the water to observe why he didn't want your group on top of a sleeping animal for PHOTOS? This is so upsetting for us, we don't get 3 star reviews; however, we hope our future visitors will read this and come to understand that this is a truly WILD experience. Do NOT come with expectations of a photo op with a wild animal...fact is, if your only priority is to get a picture with a gentle giant, this may not be the company for you. If you want to learn about these beasts, their habitats, the sustainability of what we do, the future of grass bed restoration, how you can help make a difference, have a lot of laughs and some delicious hot cocoa... we are here for you!! WE always hope that the depth of the experience is SO MUCH more than a photo....hopefully your family would agree and took away memories that will last a lifetime!
