Five of my friends from college and I were in Waikiki for a week from Virginia Beach. We wanted to see Oahu for ourselves and decided against the forced destinations and mass humanity of your standard tour buses in places like Hawaii, Australia, Italy, or any other tourist destination for that matter. I did a little bit of research online and found that Nau Wale No tours(Hawaiian for 'just for you', clever name I thought) offered personalized tours of the island. The biggest question in my mind was whether or not these people knew the island well enough and could match my interests with what the island had to offer. I can confidently say yes! I called the number on the website and booked a trip for me and my friends with their employee, Michelle, who intuitively asked me about our interests and preferences. I told Michelle that I didn't want a generic tour and that I wanted to experience the Hawaii that is not in the guidebooks. She assured me that they could accomodate us. I was doubtful since I thought I knew everything about Hawaii from the guidebooks, but also wanted to be driven around and catered to(I'm spoiled like that). I was very pleasantly suprised by our tour guide, Alexis. She was very energetic and informative and took us to places that were right in line with what we wanted to see. It was so much better than we expected and I can confidently recommend NWN tours for your own personalized tour as well. It's a definite when you visit, at least once!

We did a six hour tour in November and it was worth every penny. We only had one day to spend in Oahu and Barbara, our guide, helped us make the most of it. We wanted to see Pearl Harbor, pretty scenery, and have some authentic Hawaiian shave ice. Barbara picked us up at the airport and we went directly to Pearl Harbor to get tickets for the Arizona Memorial. We had a couple of hours to tour the island before our Memorial tour, so she took us to some neat overlooks before dropping us off again at Pearl Harbor. After Pearl Harbor, she took us to the North Shore and the Grass Skirt Grill - a fantastic little spot for lunch. We had time to see some North Shore beaches, including one with giant green sea turtles. We capped it all off with a trip to Matsumoto’s for shave ice before she dropped us at our hotel on Waikiki. Barbara did a great job of planning a tour customized to our requests. If you have only a short time in Honolulu, this is a good way to efficiently see and do exactly what you want. All in all, a good value for the price.

My mother has always (well, for 50 years) wanted to visit Hawaii but never been. I brought her to Oahu as a surprise and wanted to show her as much of this beautiful paradise as I could in our short time here. We actually travelled with Nau Wale No Tours for 2 days during our vacation so as to show my mum as much of this place as we possibly could. This was a very personalized tour which took us to the North/North-East one day and South/South-East on the other. Traveling with AJ, our guide was like being with an old friend. She is an amazing woman who has lived an amazing & full life. She is very knowledgable about Hawaii, it's history & culture and showed us many things aim sure we would not have seen if we went with one of the big-name bus tours. The tour included all of the things we wanted to see & do, along with some "local knowledge" selections. Always nice to have someone along to take a photo of all of you in a photo too instead of someone being the photographer :) Thoroughly enjoyable & definitely recommended by us.
