My wife, 10 year old daughter and I signed up for the Zipline tour and has a blast. After making introductions, our guides Shannon and Stefanie drove the group out on ATVs to the site. The course consists of 8 total ziplines, with the final two lines paired up for a race, so you end up doing 7 lines in all. Ziplines require quite a bit of safety, constantly clipping and unclipping carabiners and communicating between platforms. As you can imagine all the necessary safety protocols can slow down the action and pull down the energy level. But our guides were constantly chatting with us, telling jokes, making up games, basically everything to keep us engaged and having fun. They also recently implemented a new braking system so we didn't have to manipulate any hand braking ourselves. This was a relief as there were kids in our group with no ziplining experience.
And of course, since it's Alaska, the views from the platforms were breath-taking. We were fortunate to have a relatively sunny day and had fantastic views over the treetops to the neighboring mountains.
If you want a little adventure and excitement, Ziplining around Denali provides a unique perspective of this beautiful area. I can't vouch for all the guides, but Shannon and Stefanie were fantastic.
