Dog sledding is a MUST for any Alaska trip, and the experience at Alaskan Husky Adventures did not disappoint! Liz and her staff were excellent hosts, and we enjoyed a beautiful winter sled ride on a sunny day (we even saw Denali!). I highly recommend their business! The passion for the dogs and the thoughtfulness to their development and care is very clear. Any time I talk to someone who doesn't understand dog sledding or why dogs would want to be outside in the cold, I tell them to visit a dog kennel in Alaska! This was my third winter trip to Alaska to see the start of the Iditarod race, and I have never seen happier dogs in my life than when they're getting ready to go out on the trail. It is truly their calling, and the wonderful people that devote their lives to the dogs deserve all the respect in the world. Kudos to Matt and Liz for following their passion, creating this wonderful opportunity to share their dogs with the public, and for all their hard work out on the trail. FYI – If you’re a first-time visitor to Alaska, it's an easy drive from Anchorage to reach their kennel, and if you’re lucky, there are some beautiful views of Denali from the property. At the end of the ride, you can warm up with some hot cocoa and ask more questions about the dogs. With Liz's background in News, maybe someday they'll even have an educational video to explain the basics of dog mushing to first-time visitors! (As an animal lover, I'm unreasonably excited about informational talks!) All-in-all, an incredible experience. Everyone in my family enjoyed the adventure.
