My wife and I, both from the Southeastern U.S., were treated to a traditional sled dog tour as a surprise for our 20th wedding anniversary by local family in Anchorage. The entire experience cemented itself as the most enjoyable and memorable gift ever! The 17th Dog staff treated us like royalty and went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. The dogs were hilarious and lovable and we wanted to take them all home with us - but alas, they will live forever in our memories. I cannot recommend this adventure with enough passion. JUST DO IT! You won't be disappointed.

Our group of 6 had a great time on this tour. Liz was super helpful both on the phone and through FB Messenger. We booked the day before and then added two more day of. Liz and Matt were absent for our time at the kennel but they left us with Dane and Kaci. They were both great and very professional. Kaci had run the Iditarod last year and Dane just finished the Willow 300. Both were extremely knowledgeable and fun to spend a few hours with. Our group had some great laughs. They had hand warmers for everyone, and made sure everyone was safe and aware about everything. The trail was private and absolutely beautiful. We stopped a couple times to take some pictures. Afterward, we were offered hot beverages and snacks and talked for a while about dog care and racing. We fell in love with Hell Hound and if they weren’t keeping an eye on us, we would have taken him home. I am happy we picked 17th dog for our dog sledding experience and hope to be back again someday!

This was the highlight of our trip to Alaska! When we arrived, we met Casey and Dan who were so knowledgeable and energetic about dog mushing. The the dogs were so friendly and the ride beautiful and fun. Don’t miss this adventure!
