You will mush your own team of Alaskan Huskies from our Dog yard through the rolling hills outside of Fairbanks. The tour has great views and beautiful trails to offer. You’ll meet our friendly, excited dogs born to run. You’ll learn how to put on a harness and how to put the dogs in line. You’ll learn how to use the brakes on your sled and how to help pushing the sled uphill -the commands for left and right -haw and gee… You will get a great insight in the art of mushing you maybe can’t get enough from it ! We will stop halfway through our tour for taking pictures and to give the dogs a short break with a little snack. Soon you’ll understand why the dogs are born to run. Get ready to swap places on the sled and continue home. You’ll be guided by our guides who have many years of experience in 1000 mile races like the Iditarod and Yukon Quest. The tour starts at 10 am and will end after around 1 pm . We are wrapping the day up with a warm beverage and cookies in our cozy yurt.

Going dogsledding with Jeremy was incredible! We had a great almost three hours on the trail with our dog teams, and the whole AWA team was incredibly helpful and friendly. If you do one thing in Fairbanks, this should be it!

It was an experience that I will treasure forever. They were very professional. The meeting with the dogs before riding was amazing. They do not rush you at all. They try to accommodate you and provide any gear you may be needing. The mushing was spectacular. it was fun, exciting and relaxing at the same time. Our guide was outstanding and we had fun and learn a great deal. We had a big smile from start to end. I strongly recommend this tour to anyone.

I had the opportunity to take a tour with Torsten and Alaska Wilderness Adventures and I can honestly say it was the best tour and experience I've been on. I have been on many excursions and adventures and they have usually been fun and engaging, but the opportunity to drive the dog sleds was so much fun! Everyone involved was incredible, and Torsten in particular was helpful and encouraging. Thanks to him we found success almost immediately and got to spend our time actually experiencing the excursion.  If you get the chance I would 100% recommend taking the chance on this experience, and if not this one, one of their other incredible opportunities.
