The Lake View Tour is a wonderful way to get your feet wet while experiencing a helicopter flight in the Smokies. Douglas Lake covers more than 28,000 acres across three counties and has over 500 miles of shoreline. This flight will carry you over the French Broad River toward Douglas Dam and up to the edge of Mountain Cove Marina. On clear days there are beautiful panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance.

My husband and I had never taken a helicopter ride before and I had only been on a plane once, so I was a little nervous. That didn't last long though. Once we were up in the air, I enjoyed it very much as well as my husband. Our pilot was Scott. He did a great job, not only flying but also by making me feel comfortable. We rode on one of the bigger helicopters. Definitely want to do it again!
