El Paseo Building
El Paseo is more than a building, it is a vibe and a mini neighborhood. When you walk in from State Street there are a couple path ways leading into a lovely courtyard. The buildings surrounding the courtyard are filled with local businesses, a lot of local wine tasting rooms and a couple of restaurants and a lot of history dating back to the early 1920's. Our tour will visit one of the local wine tasting rooms to enjoy a wine tasting of 3-4 wines and eating a shared grazing box (shared only with people from your group).
56
Casa de la Guerra
Most tours will walk into the grounds and talk about Casa De La Guerra. We do not enter the home (museum) but do encourage guests to go back and check both Casa De La Guerra and Presidio out!
57
Arlington Theatre
We pass by and near the Arlington Theatre, talking about some of it's long SB history. We generally do not enter the theatre on tours.
58
Santa Barbara County Courthouse
We love all the beauty & history our courthouse has to offer. When available, we do like to take guests inside, but it is not always time permitting. Metal detectors have been added to the courthouse entrance. Please leave anything at home that could be perceived as a weapon ie pocket knife, mace, etc
59
The Granada Theatre
We have to stop and talk about the Granada theatre in all it's glory. Sadly, we are not able to enter it on tours at this time.
60
The Historic La Arcada Courtyard
Downtown offers random walkways and arcadas. Time permitting we like to weave through them stopping to look at and take pictures with famous statues (window washer) and look at the adorable and totally random turtles in the turtle pond.
61
El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park
Not all tours will pass by El Presidio. Time and route permitting we will stop and talk about it.

I enjoyed this tour so much--- I've done it twice already! The guides both times were very friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable! The food was delicious and I was stuffed both times (keep in mind I was 7 months pregnant--- so there is tons of food). I loved the assortment of food we tried and really enjoyed learning about each establishment. My mom and sister said the wine was great and since I couldn't drink I really enjoyed the chocolate truffles! I found the tour to be a wonderful way to explore state street and learn more about the food and history of Santa Barbara! I can't wait to do it again when I can enjoy the wine! This tour is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

My two friends and I went on this tour a couple of weeks ago and were somewhat disappointed. Our tour guide was awesome and the history was cool, but there was not a lot of food or drink. In fact, we were hungry after the tour ended so we went to dinner after. We have done food tours before and this was definitely our least favorite one. I would check out other tours in the area before booking this one! With how many restaurants there are in Santa Barbara there should have been more options. We went to two tasting rooms and one only let us try two wines and the other four. We had to share portions between 20 people. At the cheese shop we only got to try 3 bite size portions of cheese. The first stop Renauds was our favorite. All in all it was just okay.

Booked this food tour to see what Santa Barbara's food and wine scene looked like. Kendall was an excellent guide and included SB culture and history in the tour. We visited a local patisserie, two wine tasting rooms, a noodle place, a wood-fired pizza restaurant, an artisan cheese shop, and an ice cream parlor. I thought the amount of food provided was good. I have been on food tours before where you are uncomfortably stuffed, and that was not the case here. Alcohol provided included beer and wine. A non-alcoholic tour option is provided when registering at a discounted price. Total walking distance was around 2 miles, up and down State Street. The tour ended around 4 hours later and about a quarter-half mile from the original starting point. My only complaint would be our group size. I felt it was a little large (20+ people) for two guides to control. We did spend quite a bit of time waiting around at places trying to herd cats. I think this was an anomaly due to the holiday weekend; it sounds like most group sizes are 2-4 people, which would be more appropriate in my opinion. Still, this does not discredit Kendall or the restaurants visited. I would still recommend this food tour to anyone interested in discovering the Santa Barbara foodie scene!
