Experience the enchantment of Monument Valley and immerse yourself in the Navajo culture with a homegrown guide!

The Dreamcatcher tour package is a 4 hour evening Navajo guided tour. It starts with a 2.5 hour evening tour through the iconic landscape of Monument Valley and allows you to explore backcountry routes and restricted areas. After the evening tour a traditional Navajo dinner will await you deep in the valley close to Rain God Mesa. The tour will conclude with a special entertainment program during which you can enjoy some traditional dancing, chanting(singing), drumming and storytelling while sitting around a campfire under the stars.

Participation in the Dreamcatcher tour adventure offers the perfect way to learn about the Navajo culture and to experience all the beauty and magic of Monument Valley! During the 2.5 hour tour you will visit sites such as the amazing Big Hogan arch,  the Sun's Eye arch and ancient petroglyphs (rock art),  the Ear of the Wind arch, the famous Totem Pole and Yei bi chei rock formations, John Fords Point and many more. You will also visit a traditional Navajo Hogan where you can witness the Navajo prepare their wool and demonstrate their craft of rug weaving!  As the sun begins to fade in the west and the stars begin to fill the Monument Valley skies, you will then visit the scenic setting of Rain God Mesa where our Navajo cooks will prepare traditional Navajo tacos with homemade frybread and grill steaks over a campfire.This night you will be able to enjoy your dinner in the greatest outdoor setting you can imagine!  The evening will continue with a special Navajo cultural entertainment program. Spent time at the slot canyons, Grand Canyon & other NP’s in Az, but this by far, was my fav. A little bit of a rocky start but a smooth finish. Somehow my cell # was incorrect. My guide tried to call to update us on where to meet, at the hotel, NOT at the Information Center, but I never received the call or text. So we waited at the info center for a while, confused. Finally Richard, funny guy, caught us up w/the tour. Missed a couple of spots but still my fav event of this trip. Cody, gave us information on all the buttes and formations we visited. At Big Hogan, he sang & took us to a remote place where his cousin had prepared traditional food. My 9 yr old couldn’t finish hers. We listened to his uncle, Harold, tell us stories of life growing up in MV. He allowed questions & sang while his son, Levi & Cody danced. Our guide told us where to get great photos during the tour & took some of us. There’s no restroom, so plan accordingly. My 9 yr old did it, so it’s ok. Despite the hiccup w/ my cell #, we had an amazing day. Core memories made. Tips: i’d start at hotel and ask where your tour will meet to avoid confusion. Go on the self guided car tour so your park fee is already paid for & get a feel for the park. Time it right so you’re back at hotel early to use restroom before your guided tour begins. Bring a long sleeve shirt for way back if you get cold easily.

Our tour guide, Cody, was awesome. He knows so much about the land, the culture and the people of the tribe. He took us to some great sights in the valley. And then he took us to a picnic area for dinner which was wonderful. I love Navaho fry bread. And then he performed several dances with a friend who chanted.

The guide was very knowledgeable & very personal a very wonderful experience, I would definitely recommend this to anyone want to do a guided tour.
