À quoi s'attendre
1
Jackson Square
Your cocktails and jazz tour begins in Jackson Square where you’ll find many of the best bars of the French Quarter are only a stone’s throw away. Don’t expect to spend much time on Bourbon Street though. While it has its place in New Orleans nightlife, we will be going beyond the tourist trail to show you what really makes New Orleans’ cocktail culture unique.
2
French Quarter
For our first cocktail stop we will travel back to the 1700s and visit a bar which used to entertain some of the most eccentric characters in New Orleans history. Here, we will taste a famous drink of the city and learn how it has influenced New Orleans drinking culture today. We will then visit one of your guide’s favorite bars and taste a drink so good you’ll forget there’s alcohol in it. Next up, we will sample the ‘official cocktail of New Orleans’: the Sazerac. One of the first cocktails ever invented, it’s definitely tasty enough to stand the test of time. Our final cocktail stop will be at one of the classiest establishments in town to try one of the city’s most esteemed drinks, the Ramos Gin Fizz. After your first sip, you’ll truly understand why New Orleans has been called, “the cradle of civilized drinking.”
3
Louis Armstrong Park
There will be an opportunity to rest your feet or grab a bite to eat before the jazz portion of the tour begins. Your guide can recommend some good eats, depending on your preferences. Then we’ll head over to the historic and beautiful Louis Armstrong Park in the Tremé neighborhood. Within the park, we will talk about the historical origins of jazz and discuss one of the jazz greats, Armstrong himself.
4
Frenchmen Street
We'll begin to make our way to the popular Marigny neighborhood, named after the nobleman and good-time guy of the same name. Updated for modern thirsts, Marigny is a hip nightlife area that appeals to New Orleanians and visitors alike. Your guide will lead the way, making sure to point out a few popular local music and nightlife haunts along the way. Soon we will arrive at the famous Frenchmen Street, the largest concentration of live music venues in the city. Your guide will take you inside one of his/her favorites for a beer on us (you’re very welcome to purchase additional beverages if you want them). In New Orleans, there’s always the opportunity for an element of surprise. We’ll be on the lookout for impromptu street performances, which always make the night special. And if the timing and mood is right, we’ll get behind the scenes with one of the bands in between sets.

Place Jackson

Absolutely fascinating. Loved learning about the culture, evolution, and people of the city through the lens cocktails and music. I’ve been to New Orleans a dozen times and still learned new things. Highly recommend! Thanks to Scott and Holley.

We booked a private food and cocktail tour of New Orleans last minute. Butch was great about getting back to me quickly and organized a meet up with Lauren. It was a great combo of good food and drinks all within the French Quarter. My husband and I could barely move afterward - so be prepared to EAT! and drink. Lots of interesting information and cool tips. Thanks Butch and Lauren for an excellent experience.

It was our first time to New Orleans and we surely kicked it off right with a cocktails to jazz tour! Sophie, our tour guide was not only full of historical knowledge, she was also fun, full of life and warm. She took the time to get to know everyone which made the tour seem more like a night out with a bunch of friends. She brought us out to several bars that locals frequent and gave us some historical background on each stop. Thank you Sophie for a memorable evening and making our first day in New Orleans that much more special.
