My four friends and I decided to take an aerial tour of Lihue. What an amazing time. Very comfortable 6-seater aircraft with plenty of windows to take unobstructed pictures of the island. Over the hour we were in the air, we were able to circle the entire island, plus head inward to see a lot of the landscape that just isn't reachable by car, etc. Even better, the pilot actually gave us an interesting commentary about the aspects of the island we were viewing... You could tell he wasn't reading from some prepared script like a lot of these tour companies.
For the airline geeks :-) - We took the tour that left around 11:30am. As a result we were able to see a United plane land from LAX. By the time we got back, AA had their 757 parked at the gate.
Overall definately worth the time and money. A couple folks I was traveling with said this was much better than the helicopter tours they have taken in the past.
